Guildford's historic town is definitely the place to be seen, offering

restaurants and clubs, but set in the heart of rolling countryside
dotted with picturesque villages and a wealth of gardens and historic
buildings.
The cobbled high street still maintains its traditional charm and
ambience but laced with some of the top high street stores, while
Guildford's English villages close by, open their doors to traditional
pubs and village greens for you to enjoy, relax and watch the world
go by.
Ripley a former coaching village of half-timbered house and inns,
Gomshall with its antiques and fine pubs, Comptons hidden treasures
are revealed at the Watts gallery with paintings and sculptures
by the famous Victorian artist GF Watts, The Elizabethan Loseley
Park, the gunpowder village of Chilworth and much more for you to
enjoy and discover.
The Wey was one of the first British rivers to be made navigable.
This 15 1/2 mile waterway linked Guildford to Weybridge on the Thames
and thence to London. Narrow boats may be hired from Guildford Boat
House, which also operates river trips during the summer months.
